One of the best all-around athletes in school history, Patrice Murray '82, '89 was a three-sport standout, and four-year player at Monmouth in tennis, basketball and softball. Named Monmouth’s “Best All-Around Athlete” all four years while on campus, Murray played first singles in tennis for three years, and was named team captain and team MVP as a sophomore, junior and senior, while registering a 34-12 career singles record in dual matches. As a senior, Murray finished sixth at the NJAIAW Tournament, out of 34 competitors. On the hardwood, Murray recorded over 600 points as a four-year member of the basketball team, and two-year starter. A four-year starter in softball at shortstop, Murray started every game for the Hawks during her career. Murray, who hit .324 as a senior and had a .947 fielding percentage, was also a team captain twice.
