Monmouth University Athletics

Since 1958, Godfrey "Buzz" Buzzelli has been a member of the Monmouth community. Buzzelli, who spent his time in West Long Branch as associate professor, assistant athletic director and athletic director, also coached basketball, baseball, tennis and soccer. The Director of Athletics from 1980-82, Buzzelli helped implement Monmouth’s move to Division I. On the academic side, Buzzelli was an assistant profressor from 1958-66, associate professor from 1966-99, Professor Emeritus, and an adjunct professor. Buzzelli also served as coordinator of physical education and athletics facilities, while having a hand in freshman advising, independent studies and recreation during his tenure at Monmouth.
