Dave Calloway excelled at Monmouth both as a player and a coach, and was on the coaching staff for all four of Monmouth's NCAA Tournament appearances, including three as the head coach. Calloway served as MU's head man for 14 seasons, winning three NEC championships and 178 games in the process. Calloway earned 2001 NEC Coach of the Year honors, leading the Blue and White to an NEC title with 21 wins, 15 coming in the league. On the court, he is eighth all-time in scoring with 1,404 points and still holds the MU single-game record for three pointers with nine at Pepperdine in 1990. The sharpshooter is the Hawks' all-time leader in three pointers made with 260 and in single-season triples with 97 in 1989-90. He also holds the program record for three-point shooting percentage at .459, and is sixth in career assists. Calloway was named All-NEC Second Team and to the All-Rookie Team, and is the only Academic All-American in program history (1990). Calloway will be inducted as both a player and a coach.
