A two-time All-Northeast Conference selection and 1998 second-team All-American, Joseph McCullough '98 played for the Hawks for four seasons. McCullough, who is tied for the career lead in overall hits in Monmouth's Division I history, was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Year, as well as the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association Player of the Year in 1998, while leading the Hawks to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. The 1998 NEC Tournament Most Valuable Player and Monmouth University Male Athlete of the Year, McCullough played both second base and third base for the Hawks, while collecting 247 career hits. In Monmouth's Division I era, McCullough also ranks second in RBI, fourth in runs scored, and fifth in doubles and stolen bases.
