Mary Beth Byrnes Stehle was a standout for the Hawks, leading the Blue & White to the inaugural Northeast Conference Women's Soccer Championship in 1995, capping that season off with a perfect 5-0 league record. Byrnes Stehle was earned 1994-95 Monmouth Female Athlete of the Year, finishing her career with 73 career points (24 goals, 25 assists). Monmouth recorded back-to-back 17-win seasons in 1994 and 1995 as the team went 34-6-0 in her final two seasons, the best two-year record in program history. The 17 victories in 1994 and 1995 equal the most for a Monmouth women's soccer team in school history. She was named as the NJSCA New Jersey Player of the Year in 1994 as well as earning First Team All-NEC honors in 1995. Byrnes Stehle set Monmouth's single-season assists record (14 – 1994), which ranked ninth in the NCAA in 1994. The 14 assists currently rank third in a single season in Monmouth history.
