A two-time Northeast Conference Player of the Year in both 1990 and 1991, Joni Kallioinen '92 led Monmouth to its first-ever league championship in 1991, while earning Northeast Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player honors along the way. Monmouth's first three-time First-Team All-Northeast Conference performer, Kallioinen was recognized as an all-region player on three occasions as well. A premier forward, Kallioinen still ranks second all-time at Monmouth in goals scored with 38, and career points with 94. Kallioinen also ranks fourth in the Hawks' record books with 18 career assists.
