The Monmouth University baseball team will be well represented in collegiate baseball leagues this summer, as 13 current Hawks will be participating in various leagues. Keep a tab on all of the Hawks through their team and league links.

GoMUHawks.com caught up with a few of the current Hawks playing in the summer leagues:

Owen Stewart: "Summer leagues are extremely beneficial to a college career. They are a great way to maintain and develop your skills during the off-season. Also, unlike the winter off-season, we play games, so it keeps us competitive throughout the summer."

Dan Smith: "The Valley League is a great league and it is very competitive. It is helping me improve because I am learning from everyone around me. The league is competitive but I am not outmatched by being here."

Pat Light, who was named an NECBL All-Star: "The summer is going well. Playing in the NECBL with the Newport Gulls has been a great experience. I'm playing against some of the best players in the country, so it is definitely helping my pitching."

Josh Boyd: "I love it up here. I really like my coaches as well as all the guys on my team. The value of going away and playing summer ball is huge. This summer has been great just being on my own and being able to work at my game every day."
