The Monmouth University softball team's weekend games at the Patriot Classic, hosted by George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., have been cancelled. With portions of the George Mason Softball Complex still buried under snow, tournament officials cancelled the season-opening Patriot Classic, which was scheduled to begin on today.

The tournament, which was slated to feature Army, IPFW and the host Patriots, will not be rescheduled. 

MU will now have to wait until Friday, March 5 to begin the 2010 season, when the Hawks travel to the Texas A&M Invitational.
