West Long Branch, NJ - Monmouth swept the Northeast Conference bowing awards for the second week in a row. This time, freshman Kailyn Bloch claimed both the Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors.
Bloch spearheaded the Hawks' first-place finish at the two-day Griffin Baker Classic in South Jersey. The rookie right-hander averaged a team-high 22.28 pins per frame over nine matches. Powering Monmouth to a 6-3 showing that ended with a seven-game baker win over rival Fairleigh Dickinson, Bloch threw 56 strikes in 94 attempts (.596) while proceeding to fill frames at a 92.6 percent clip. Her first-ball attempts yielded an average of 9.14 pins per shot.
