Monmouth's Kailyn Bloch Repeats as NEC Player and Rookie of the Week

February 19, 2025

West Long Branch, NJ - Monmouth freshman Kailyn Bloch is 2-for-February. The rookie right-hander won both the Northeast Conference Player and Rookie of the Week awards for the second time this month.

Bloch, who also captured both honors back on February 5 for her Griffin Baker Classic performance, stepped up for Monmouth with the season on the line at Northeast Conference 2.

Leading the Hawks to a 9-3 record that clinched a spot in the four-team NEC Tournament, the freshman averaged 19.71 pins per frame en-route to her fourth NEC Rookie of the Week award this season. Bloch posted a 204.0 game average over four traditional matches and averaged 19.24 pins per baker frame over a six-match sample. She threw 46 strikes in 100 attempts (.460). In baker play, the rookie was 16-of-16 on single-pin spares.

Monmouth sophomore Morgan Davis joined Bloch on the NEC's Prime Performers list for February 19. Starting all 12 matches, Davis averaged 19.01 pins per frame against conference foes.  Her 192.5 traditional game average was third overall on the NEC individual leaderboard.

The February 19 accolades mark the third time this semester that the Hawks have swept the conference's weekly awards. On January 29, graduate Jenna Lehrer and freshman Grace Kraemer earned the NEC Player and Rookie of the Week awards, respectively.
