WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – A pair of Monmouth University baseball players were honored as the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) announced its end of the year awards voted on by the league's head coaches.

Designated hitter
Phil Stahl was named All-CAA Honorable Mention while third baseman
Wyatt Hunt earned a spot on the CAA All-Rookie Team.

Stahl was honored for the first time in his career after a strong final season with the Hawks. He appeared in 46 games and made 44 starts as the designated hitter. Stahl hit .366, which ranks 22nd in single-season history at Monmouth. He finished the year on a 16-game hit streak, which was the longest hit streak by a Hawk this season.Â

Stahl picked up the 100th hit of his career in early April against William & Mary. He contributed 15 multi-hit games and had 11 extra base hits (six doubles, five home runs). Stahl matched his career RBIs with five in the game-one win over Towson. In the season finale at Hofstra, Stahl was 3-for-5 with a career-high four runs scored and added four RBIs.

Hunt capped a solid freshman campaign by earning all-rookie accolades. He appeared in 32 games and starting 23 of those contests. Hunt played primarily at third base but also saw time at second. He finished the season hitting .250 with nine runs scored and nine RBIs. He had six multi-hit games.

Hunt was named the CAA Rookie of the Week on May 6 after leading the Hawks to a 3-1 week, including a series win at Delaware. Hunt went 4-for-4 with two RBIs in the game-one win over the Blue Hens.Â
