RICHMOND, Va. – After leading the Monmouth University baseball team to its first Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) series sweep since 2024, junior first baseman
Chris Walsh was named the CAA Co-Player of the Week by league officials.

Walsh was honored for the first time in his career and is the second Hawk to be honored this season (
Sam Saucke – Feb. 16).

Walsh hit .500 with five runs scored and four RBIs in the three-game sweep of Towson. He had a slugging percentage of .500 and an on base percentage of .571.

In Friday's opener, Walsh went 3-for-5 with three RBIs, two runs scored and two stolen bases.Â

In Saturday's middle game, he reached base after being hit by a pitch.

He wrapped up the weekend by going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. He also walked in that game and stole two more bases. Walsh got the scoring started as his RBI single in the first drove in the game's first run.

Walsh has reached base safely in six straight games. His three hits in two of the games are a season-high.Â

Walsh is hitting a team-best .341 with 11 runs scored, nine RBIs and six stolen bases on the season.
