BOWLING FINISHES SEASON RANKED NO. 25 IN NTCA POLL

NACOGDOCHES, TX – The Monmouth University bowling team earned a spot in the final National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) poll of the season, slotting in at No. 25 in the country. The Blue and White were ranked in each monthly NTCA poll throughout the season.

The Hawks went 52-51 on the lanes during the regular season including a 10-6 mark in MEAC play, marking the fifth time in the last five full seasons that the team reached the 50-win mark. They entered the MEAC Championships as the fourth seed and went on to finish fourth at the event, downing fifth-seeded Morgan State and sixth-seeded UAB while falling to top-seeded North Carolina A&T State and second-seeded Delaware State.

At the annual Monmouth Student-Athlete Awards, Saige Yamada was named the team's most valuable player while Dani Seaman earned the team leadership award. Yamada was also the team's nominee for the Paul G. Gaffney II Female Athlete of the Year Award, with Seaman earning the nomination for the female Bill Boylan Award. Skylar Smith was the team's nominee for the female Joan Martin Award. Additionally, the team earned the Marilyn Parker Award, presented to the teams with the highest grade-point average, for the fall 2021 semester.

MU is one of five MEAC teams in the final NTCA poll, joining No. 7 North Carolina A&T, No. 13 Delaware State, No. t16 Maryland Eastern Shore, and No. 21 Morgan State.
