SMYRNA, TN – The No. 24 Monmouth University bowling team (52-51, 10-6 MEAC) closed out its regular season slate at Vanderbilt's Music City Classic over the weekend. In a tough field that included 19 ranked squads, the Hawks earned a 16
th place finish overall out of 33 competing schools.

On Friday, MU picked up a win over No. 12 Maryville in Baker play. The Blue and White also notched a victory on Saturday in a traditional match against Alabama State, who received votes in the latest NTCA poll.

Siyah Sweeny was the top individual finisher for the Hawks on Saturday, placing 34
th overall out of 203 bowlers. The sophomore achieved a total pinfall of 1,023 over five games, which was good for an average score of 204.6 per game. She posted three 200+ games, including a high game of 258 which was the highest single-game score for a Hawks bowler this season.

The Hawks will turn their focus to the MEAC Championships this weekend in Chesapeake, VA. The three-day event begins on Friday, March 25 and runs through Sunday, March 27. The first match for the fourth-seeded Hawks will be against fifth-seeded Morgan State at 9:00 AM on Friday.
