MILLSBORO, Del. – The Monmouth University women's bowling team placed 16
th at the 2022 Hawk Classic Invitational this weekend hosted by the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

Monmouth put together a 5-5 record through the first two days of the event, which included wins over St. Francis Brooklyn and #22 LIU in Baker format, as well as victories over Mercyhurst, #10 Fairleigh Dickinson, and #5 Sam Houston in Traditional format. The Hawks fell short in all three of their Championship matches on Sunday.

The two Monmouth freshmen put together an impressive showing at the three-day event.
Brillian Soedarmasto led the Hawks with an average of 198.4 over five traditional games, earning her 14
th place individually.
Desiré Villalobos posted the highest single-game performance on Saturday as she knocked down 258 pins versus #9 Youngstown State.

Sierra Poole each recorded a 200+ game for Monmouth.

- The #23 Hawks topped three nationally ranked opponents during the weekend, beating #22 LIU in Friday's Baker play, and then #10 Fairleigh Dickinson and #5 Sam Houston in Saturday's Traditional play.

- Monmouth's highest pin total in baker format was 946 against #2 Vanderbilt.
- Monmouth's largest margin of victory was 101 pins in the Baker match win over St. Francis Brooklyn (898-797).
- Monmouth's wins over #10 Fairleigh Dickinson and #5 Sam Houston are the program's first victories over a top-10 opponent since beating #2 McKendree on January 2, 2022 (1089-1052).
- The Hawks fell to #13 Duquesne via tiebreaker, 83-95, after tying at 867 in regulation.
