WOMEN’S SOCCER ENTERS CAA CHAMPIONSHIP AS TOP SEED

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ - The Monmouth University women's soccer team opens play in the 2022 CAA Championship on Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. when it hosts No. 8 Hofstra at Hesse Field on the Great Lawn.

Monmouth clinched the top seed in the tournament in its first season in the CAA with a 2-1 victory over Northeastern Sunday. Defending CAA Champion Hofstra earned a right to play in the tournament by controlling its head-to-head record with UNCW. Monmouth and Hofstra played to a 1-1 draw in the regular season on September 29.

The Hawks will have the opportunity to play three home games for the conference title. Should they win Thursday, they will host the winner of No. 4 Elon and No. 5 Towson. The tournament final is set for either Saturday, November 5, or Sunday, November 6, depending on who the highest remaining seed is.
