BOWLING FINISHES STRONG AT HAWK FLIGHT INVITE

HAMILTON, NJ –  The Monmouth University bowling team won all three of its matches on Sunday to place fifth at its annual Hawk Flight Invite Tournament this weekend at Hamilton Lanes.

The event featured 12 teams, including seven ranked in the NTCA Top 25 poll. Duquesne, ranked #10 in the country, finished 11-0 through baker and traditional play and met #2 Sam Houston State in the championship match, where it won, 4-3.

Monmouth went 8-5, including four traditional match wins, before defeating #24 Wilmington and #25 LIU to finish bracket play in fifth place.

Junior Camelia Coffman led the Hawks with a series score of 1241 across six traditional games, including a career-high game of 257, to finish 18th overall.

- Monmouth owns a 47-41 overall record in 2019-20.

- The #22 ranked Hawks defeated #25 LIU twice and #24 Wilmington twice for their four Top 25 victories. Monmouth went 4-2 overall in traditional matches. 

- Monmouth has won 21 head-to-head matches against Top-25 opponents this season.

- Monmouth's highest pin total in baker format was 1033 in the win over Mercyhurst. The Hawks' highest traditional match total was 1047 in the win over LIU.

- Monmouth's largest margin of victory was 242 pins in the traditional match win over New Jersey City University (958-716).

- Junior Camelia Coffman had three 200+ games, including her career-best 257. Coffman has nine 200+ games this season and 26 in her career.

- Senior Erin Mastropietro bowled three 200+ games, including a career-high game of 258. She has five 200+ games in 2019-20.

- Sophomore Skylar Smith rolled three 200+ games, highlighted by a season-high game of 244. Smith has 14 200+ games this year and 16 for her career.

- Sophomore Dani Seaman threw two 200+ games, including a career-high 211. She has three career 200+ games, all this season.

- Sophomore Saige Yamada had a high game of 222, giving her 14 200+ games on the season and 19 for her career.

- Amanda Zappacosta tossed a high game of 202. It was the third 200+ game of the junior's season and career.
