Hawks knock off No. 3 Nebraska
LAS VEGAS – The Monmouth University bowling team opened its spring semester this weekend at the Stormin' Blue & White Classic at South Point Hotel & Casino, hosted by Mount St. Mary's.
Sophomore
Skylar Smith led Monmouth with a total of 994 pins across five traditional games.
As a team, Monmouth had an 6-7 record over the three-day event, highlighted by baker match wins over No. 3 Nebraska and No. 25 Prairie View A&M.

- The #23 ranked Hawks defeated #3 Nebraska and #25 Prairie View A&M twice for their three Top 25 victories this weekend. Two wins came in baker matches on Friday before Monmouth beat Prairie View again on Sunday.Â
- Monmouth has 12 Top-25 wins in the 2019-20 season. The win over Nebraska was Monmouth's first against a team ranked in the top five of the NTCA Poll this season.

th-place finish was the highest of her career. She rolled three 200+ games, including a high game of 214. Smith now has eight 200+ efforts this season and 10 for her career.

Amanda Zappacosta rolled her first-career 200+ games with a 208 and team weekend-high performance of 234. She was second on the Hawks with a 44
th-place effort.

th place. The sophomore had a pair of 200+ games, giving her 10 on the season and 15 for her career.
