2019 HAWKS AGAINST THE TOURNAMENT FIELD
#1 Canisius (Monmouth won 2 of 3)
Monmouth went to Canisius on the first weekend of May and won two of three over the Golden Griffins, with
Rob Hensey becoming the first Hawk to pitch into the ninth inning this season, a game MU eventually won in extra innings before a high-scoring win in the series finale.
#2 Quinnipiac (Teams did not play)
Monmouth and Quinnipiac did not play each other during the 2019 regular season.
#3 Fairfield (Monmouth won 1 of 3)
In a series that was shifted to Pace University for the final game due to weather, the Hawks won the middle game of a three-game set against their first-round opponent. Hensey got the win for MU in a game that saw
Clay Koniencki and
Colin McCreary homer.
#4 Marist (Monmouth won 0 of 3)
The Hawks lost a pair of one-run games at home to the Red Foxes, including one in extra innings in West Long Branch.
#5 Manhattan (Monmouth won 1 of 3)
In MU's win,
Matt Graber picked up a clutch two-run double in the later innings to top the Jaspers as
Regan Dombroski and
Nick Houghton combined to fan 13, including six in four shutout innings from Houghton.
ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS
Monmouth had three players named to All-MAAC teams on Tuesday night, including senior
Clay Koniencki at the utility spot on the Second Team, junior
Zach Schild as the Second Team catcher, and pitcher
Rob Hensey on the All-Rookie Team.

MU had eight players named to the MAAC All Academic Team:

HAWK NOTES
-The Hawks won eight of nine MAAC games and nine of 10 total games to close out the regular season.

Rob Hensey has been named MAAC Rookie of the Week twice in May after allowing just one run in three starts in the month, tossing 18.1 innings. He had a 0.89 ERA with 12 K's in his final three starts.

Zach Schild led the Hawks in hitting at .304 during the regular season.
-
Kyle Norman and
JP Walsh are the only Hawks to have started every game during the regular season.
-The Hawks have qualified for the MAAC Tournament in five of six seasons in the league.
-Head Coach
Dean Ehehalt, in his 26th season with the Hawks, won his 700th career game in March against Maryland Eastern Shore, and his 700th at Monmouth in the second win over Iona in May.
-2018 MAAC Rookie of the Year
Dan Klepchick returned from injury against Iona, tossing five innings.
-Earlier this season, MU topped its second top-10 opponent in school history in #8 East Carolina.
-MU posted a 10-10 home record, and has not had a losing record at home since 1995.
-
JD Andreessen earned MU's lone MAAC Player of the Week honor this season after a monster weekend at Saint Peter's, homering twice.
