BOWLING CLOSES SEASON AT MEAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

FINAL RESULTS
Monmouth: 4 of 6, 2-2 record

CHESAPEAKE, VA – Competing in its first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship, the Monmouth University bowling team finished in fourth place among six qualifying teams this weekend at AMF Chesapeake Lanes.

The MEAC Championship, a six-team, double-elimination tournament, uses a best of three Mega Match format. The opening match is a traditional five team match, followed by a Baker match scored by total pinfall. If the competing teams split the first two matches, a Best of Seven Baker Series is played to determine which team advances.

Monmouth opened the weekend with a victory over number four seed #14 UAB, winning 2-1. The Hawks took the best of seven series by winning three straight games to advance and play second seeded #11 North Carolina A&T. Monmouth fell 2-0, before knocking off Howard, 2-1, to stay alive in the tournament. No. 3 seed and 13th ranked Delaware State took the best of seven series (4.5 - 0.5) to end Monmouth's pursuit of the MEAC crown.
