NEW YORK, NY-Â For the sixth straight season, the Monmouth University women's track and field program won the MAAC Championship while the men's team claimed their fifth in the last six years. Darius Howe was named the Most Outstanding Field Performer of the meet after winning the triple jump on Sunday and placing fourth in the long jump on Saturday. Freshman Louis DiLaurenzio was tabbed as the Track Rookie of the Meet as he won the 800-meter run, anchored the winning 4x800 relay team and led off the second place DMR.
Patrice Baston won the Field Event Athlete of the Meet after winning the long jump and finishing 2nd in the triple jump. Head Coach
Joe Compagni and his staff were named MAAC Men's and Women's Coach of the Year honor, their 54
th and 55
th Conference or Regional Coach of the Year honors.

-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â "We has some individual stars who really performed at a high level and we're proud of them," said Compagni. "Winning a championship like this, though, is really about a huge team effort. We had a great group on both teams who stepped up in a big way, especially on the second day."Â
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The men totaled 271.5 points to win their second straight MAAC championship. The second place team, Rider, scored 116.5 while Iona placed third with 112 points. The men's winning score is the highest in their six years in the MAAC.

Allie Wilson began the day by winning the mile in 4:41.38. Her teammates

Amber Stratz (4:57.16) scored for the Hawks by finishing 4

Chandi Piiru (2:12), Velock (2:13) and

nd in 22.1 seconds while Mohamed Diagourga was 4
th in 22.42 seconds.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Slocum also won the 60-meter dash in 6.82 seconds with
Miguerson Joseph just behind in second with a time of 6.91 seconds while Massey placed 6
th in 7.02 seconds.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Corey Murphy broke a MAAC Championships record to win shot put with a mark of 64'5.75". Brandon Davis, Daniel Gilligan and Andrew Huisman finished 4-5-6 to score for the Hawks.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The mark for Murphy moves him into the top 10 in the NCAA for the shot put and only .75 feet behind school record holder Jon Kalnas, a three-time All-American.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Nadale Buntin won the 400-meter dash in 48.41 seconds while fellow freshman Jalen Jones took 5
th in 49.85 seconds.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Freshman Louis DiLaurenzio won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.59 while teammate James Hoffman took 4
th in 1:56.49.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Randy Showmaker and Matt Isaacson finished first and second as they both cleared 14'9" in the pole vault finals. Chad Smiley, Ryan Ledda and Nicholas Vail-Stein scored by finishing 5-6-8.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Darius Howe won the triple with a mark of 49'9" while Michael Pepper (49'8.5") finished just behind in second. Freshmen Diagourga and Buntin finished 4
th and 5
th in the event.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Nick McFarland, Ryan Rafferty, Hoffman and DiLaurenzio won the 4x800 relay in 7:43.88.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Diagourga (8.354 seconds), Tim Van Cauwenberge (8.408 seconds), Naeem Green (8.409 seconds) and Masfort Boima (8.49 seconds) finished 2-4-5-7 in the 60-meter hurdles.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Ryan Rafferty finished third in the mile by crossing the finish line in 4:14.64 and Matt Farrell took 8
th to score for the Hawks.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Van Cauwenberge, Buntin, Jones and Greg Stickle teamed up to finish second in the 4x400 relay in 3:20.21.
