RICHMOND, Va. – Monmouth senior
Yasmeen Tinsley was named the 2025 Coastal Athletic Association Outdoor Track and Field Women's Athlete of the Year, the CAA announced on Thursday.
Tinsley was named a Second Team All-American in the women's 400-meter hurdles, finishing 15
th out of 32 competitors at the national semifinals last month. Her 57.53 time at the NCAA Championships was her third-fastest mark of the 2025 outdoor season. She became just the sixth woman in program history to earn the recognition.
"Yasmeen winning the CAA Track Athlete of the Year award is a very impressive honor," said Monmouth Track and Field Head Coach
Jordan Torney. "The CAA is an extremely competitive conference, and for her to win this award speaks volumes to her development as an athlete throughout the course of her career at Monmouth."
The Arlington, Va., native ends an illustrious career in West Long Branch, holding 10 program records
- Outdoor: 100m, 200m, 400m, 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles
- Indoor: 60m, 200m, 300m, 400m, 60m hurdles
In 2025 alone, she set new school marks in the 100m dash, 200m dash, 400m dash, 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles.
At the CAA Championships, Tinsley finished first in the 400-meter hurdles and broke her own school record in the 100-meter hurdles and 100-meter dash. She had eight total first-place finishes in the 2025 outdoor competition.
With the honor, Tinsley becomes the first Monmouth athlete to earn women's track athlete of the year since the Hawks joined the CAA in 2022.
