EUGENE, Ore. – Monmouth University Track & Field standout
Yasmeen Tinsley capped off a memorable 2024-25 season by being named a Second Team All-American in the women's 400-meter hurdles after an impressive performance at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Tinsley placed 15th out of 32 competitors in the national semifinal round with a time of 57.53, marking the fastest 400m hurdles time ever run by a Monmouth athlete at the NCAA Championships. It was her third-fastest time of the outdoor season.
With the honor, Tinsley becomes just the sixth woman in Monmouth track & field history to earn an All-America recognition, and the first since Allie Wilson in 2019. She also becomes just the second Hawk ever to earn All-America honors in the 400m hurdles, joining Rachel Watkins, who earned the distinction in 2013.
The 2024-25 season was historic for the senior, as she reset the Monmouth program record book across an unprecedented number of events. Tinsley now holds school records in 10 different events:
- Outdoor: 100m, 200m, 400m, 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles
- Indoor: 60m, 200m, 300m, 400m, 60m hurdles
"Yasmeen earning All-American honors was the perfect way to cap off her incredible senior season," Acting Head Coach for Track & Field
Jordan Torney said. "This was more than deserving. Throughout her career, she has done everything necessary to compete at the highest level. She's made countless sacrifices, was always focused during practice, and was a consistent leader for our team. I'm glad she was able to cap off her collegiate career, earning a spot on the All-American list."
