WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University swimming teams raced past visiting St. Francis Brooklyn on Friday night at Steadman Natatorium.
Tahlia Botha (Cape Town, South Africa / Reddam House Durbanville / Kenridge Primary) set two new school records in the 200-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard IM, and also a personal best in the 100-yard breaststroke. Botha and Camryn McHugh (Sicklerville, NJ / Gloucester Catholic) won three races each and on the men's side
Blake Reynolds (Grayson, GA / St. Pius X) and
Dylan Edge (Chandler, AZ / Corona Del Sol) each turned in two individual victories.
The men won 156-98 to extend its winning streak and improve to 6-1 on the year, while the women's team went to 5-3 by virtue of the 140-121 win.

Blake Reynolds touched the wall first in the 50 free (21.23) and the 100 fly (50.69), giving him 10 individual victories this season.
- Rookie
Dylan Edge placed first in the 200 free (1:45.28) and the 200 back (1:54.14) and he now has eight wins this year.
- Junior
Trevor Askew came in first place in the 200 IM (1:58.81) to win his 11th race of the year. Askew has 17 career individual victories.
- Sophomore
Callan Smith won the 100 back to give himself 10 first-place finishes in 2019 and 41 for his career.
- Senior
Austin D'Angelo won his first race of the season, the 100 breast, and the eighth of his career.
- Sophomore
Nate Heisey also won his first race of 2019 (200 breast), giving him three wins in his career.
- Sophomore
Dylan Barkhuizen touched the wall first in the 200 fly, clocking in at 1:58.46. Barkhuizen won his first race of 2019 and the eighth race of his career.
- Sophomore
Valance Washington took the crown in the 100 free, winning in 47.58. Washington won his first race of the year and the seventh of his career.
- Monmouth's men won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:34.42 as
Kevin Del Giorno, Askew, Reynolds and Washington combined for the victory.
- For the women's team, Tahlia Botha contributed three individual wins, placing first in the 100 breast, 200 breast and 200 IM. Botha has won 15 races so far in her freshman season.
- Sophomore Camryn McHugh won the 100 back, 200 back and 100 fly to give herself 10 victories in 2019 and 34 for her career.
- Rookie Alexandra Ho reached double-digit wins on the year (10) after winning the 50 free and 100 free.
- McHugh, Botha, Ho and Bradie Keelen combined to win the 200-yard medley relay, clocking in at 1:50.41.

NUMBERS CRUNCH
- Tahlia Botha set new team records in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:24.66) and the 200-yard IM (2:12.78).
- Botha set a new personal-best time in the 100-yard breaststroke, winning in 1:07.07.

- Alexandra Ho set a new personal-best time in the 100-yard freestyle (53.58).
- Monmouth had three men set personal best times in the 50-yard freestyle,
Ben Yeung (22.40),
Austin D'Angelo (23.54) and
Nate Lardieri (23.50).
