GLEN BURNIE, MD – The Monmouth University bowling team rolled its way to a third-place finish in the first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference event of the 2019-20 season this weekend at Bowl America Glen Burnie.
Monmouth had an 8-4 head-to-head record across the three-day event, including a perfect 5-0 record in traditional team matches. The Hawks earned victories over two ranked opponents, with wins over No. 19 UAB and #8 North Carolina A&T.
Sophomore
Saige Yamada earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team with her fifth place finish. Yamada totaled 1,220 pins across six traditional games.

- Monmouth's highest pin total in baker format was 1,025 in the win over Howard. It marked the highest baker format total of the season for the Hawks.
- Monmouth's largest margin of victory was 285 pins in the traditional match win over Florida A&M (1025-898). It was the largest traditional match difference of the 2019-20 season.

Skylar Smith led Monmouth with a 235 high game in traditional match play. Smith had three 200+ games over the weekend and now has five-career 200+ games. She finished 35
th, the best individual place of her career.

Saige Yamada's fifth-place finish was the highest of her career. She rolled the first three 200+ games of her season, including a season-best 236. Yamada has eight-career 200+ efforts.
