EGG HARBOR TWP, NJ – The Monmouth University bowling team hosted the 2018 Hawk Flight Invite this weekend at King Pin Bowling, where it placed fifth overall.
Monmouth finished 8-4 during the three-day event that featured 17 teams, including six ranked opponents. The Hawks, who are receiving votes in the NTCA Poll, posted victories over two ranked teams, #6 Delaware State and #10 Fairleigh Dickinson, and fell to Southland Conference opponents #4 Vanderbilt and #5 Sam Houston State.

Jackie Evans led the Hawks individually, as she has the entire 2017-18 season, and finished 17th overall with a scoring average of 182.80 across five traditional games.
WEEKEND NOTES
"It was a challenging pattern and sparing was essential to win matches this weekend. Our execution was decent, but could have been better. Overall, we did well, but have a lot more preparation to do in order to be ready for the level of competition we will face at our conference championships."

- Monmouth defeated a pair of ranked opponents, #6 Delaware State and #10 Fairleigh Dickinson, and posted a 2-4 record against ranked opponents on the weekend.

Demi May rolled a 210 and a 202 for her sixth 200-plus game of the season.
