SOFTBALL ANNOUNCES 2019 SCHEDULE

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ - Monmouth University Head Softball Coach Shannon Salsburg has announced the team's 2019 schedule, which begins with a trip to Madeira Beach, Florida for the second consecutive season on February 15. The Hawks earned their first regular season championship since 1999 last season, and made their first-ever NCAA Regional appearance after their first conference tournament championship. Monmouth's historic year ended with 32 wins, which were the most since 2000.

The Hawks will begin the season at Eastern Michigan's Madeira Beach Invitational from February 15 to February 17, before heading to the Florida International Panther Invitational a week later. Monmouth will then travel to Maryland for the Towson University Tournament from March 1 to March 3.

Two more tournaments, including the George Mason Cherry Blossom Classic and the USF Series Tournament highlight a jam-packed opening month.

After a doubleheader at Florida Gulf Coast on March 19, the Hawks will host Wagner for their home opener on March 23. Five straight home series follow including doubleheaders with Kent State, Canisius, Niagara, Delaware, and Quinnipiac.

The Hawks will then take to the road for six straight away matchups, with games at Rider, Columbia, Manhattan, Saint Peter's Lafayette, and Marist.

On April 23, Monmouth will host Princeton for a single game.

After traveling to Siena on April 28, the Blue & White will wrap up the regular season with home doubleheaders against Fairfield and Iona on May 4 and 5, respectively.

The 2018 MAAC Championships will run from Wednesday, May 8 to Saturday, May 11, hosted by the #1 seed.
