Monmouth Wraps Up 2025 Season

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Monmouth University Softball concluded its 2025 softball season on Saturday afternoon with a hard-fought 3-0 road defeat against Hofstra at Bill Edwards Stadium. The Hawks finish the campaign at 11-42 overall and 7-20 in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) play.
 
Sophomore right-hander Izzy Bonacci delivered a gritty performance in the circle, tossing five innings while striking out two and allowing just five hits and three runs before turning the ball over to Olivia Lewis, who tossed a scoreless sixth to keep Monmouth within striking distance.
 
Despite the final score, Monmouth showed composure on defense, committing no errors and scattering four hits across the lineup. Junior Jayla Cadena capped her debut season with a single in the sixth inning, while Gianna Stern and Kylee McLain each notched hits in the fourth. Isabella Slape also added a base hit and reached scoring position in the third.
 
The contest remained scoreless through four innings before Hofstra pushed across three runs in the fifth. Monmouth threatened in both the fourth and sixth innings but was unable to capitalize.
