READING, PA – The Monmouth University bowling team earned a 17th place finish at the 10th Annual Kutztown Invitational this weekend at Hiester Lanes.
Monmouth finished 5-8 during the three-day tournament against a loaded field with nine top-10 opponents and 17 nationally ranked teams. The Hawks posted victories over Duquesne and St. Francis Brooklyn.
For the fifth consecutive competition senior
Jackie Evans led the Hawks individually, as she took 23rd among individuals with an average of 208.40 over five traditional games.
WEEKEND NOTES
"We ended on a strong note going 3-0 on day 3, but failed to execute consistently enough the first two days to put us higher in the bracket. Our average overall improved but out single pin conversion percentage was sub par. We need to do a better job of cleaning the deck in our first two days of competition." - Director of Bowling

- The No. 24 ranked Hawks defeated Duquesne and St. Francis Brooklyn for their two wins during Friday's Baker matches.

- Monmouth's highest pin total in baker format was 995 against Duquesne.
- Monmouth's largest margin of victory was 50 pins in the Baker match win over Duquesne (995-945).

Jackie Evans threw a 222 high game in traditional match play. She had four of her five games above 200 over the weekend.
- Evans has surpassed the 200-pin mark in 18 of 25 games this season.
- Senior
Demi May rolled her third 200-plus game of the season. She threw a team-weekend high and personal season-best game of 224.
- Junior
Haley Solberg now has seven games above 200 this season after throwing three 200 games in five traditional matches.
- Freshman
Camelia Coffman posted a 205 game, her second 200 performance of the year.
- Senior
Julie Bianco threw a 200 to reach the 200-mark for the fifth time in 2017-18.
