CUPP SETS MONMOUTH RECORD AT NY GOTHAM CUP

TRACK CONCLUDES IMPRESSIVE WEEKEND OF EVENTS

BETHLEHEM/LEWISBURG, PA – The Monmouth University men's and women's track and field teams combined for 17 first place finishes at Moravian's Greyhound Invitational, while school records fell and five Hawks qualified for postseason events at Bucknell's Bison Outdoor Classic.

At Bucknell, Jenna Cupp ran to a new school record in the 1500 with a time of 4:26.62 to finish 10th in a field of over 60 runners. Rachael Baker clocked in at 10:48.87 in the 3000 meter steeplechase good for a sixth place result and the top spot in the Monmouth history books.

Bucknell

- Cupp along with Molly McKeon (4:33.03) and Danielle Leavitt (4:33.97) all qualify for the ECACs in the 1500.

- Baker's 3000 meter record also qualifies her for the ECAC championships.

- Kyle Mueller moves to number two in school history with a time of 30:42.07, earning a spot at the IC4A Championships in the process, in the 10,000 meter run.

Moravian

- Peter Guerriero and Bryan Sosoo finish .01 second apart to claim first and second in the 100 meter dash with 10.81 and 10.82. Guerriero also went on to win the 200 meter dash, registering a time of 21.82.

- Evan Jerolaman crossed the finish line in 9:41.59 to earn first in the 3000 meter steeplechase.

- The 4x100 meter relay team ran its way to a first place finish, clocking in at 42.66.

- Domenick D'Agostino paced the field in the 1500 meter run, finishing in 3:59.07.

- The Hawks dominated the field in the hammer throw as Troy Andretta (192' 06"), Timothy Wilson (189' 11"), Corey Murphy 172' 02", Vincent Santarsiero (166' 05, and George Martin (161' 03") finish one through five.

- Corey Murphy's discus throw of 173' 8" broke a 10-year meet record set by former Hawk Nick Williams. Daniel Gilligan and Andrew Tummino threw for 158' 10" and 155' 09" respectively to claim second and third.

- Michael Pepper leaped his way to a first place finish in the triple jump, posting a mark of 47' 10" to finish 6.25" in front of teammate Darius Howe who claimed second.

- Viviane Orleans and Andrea Olsen finished .01 seconds apart to claim one-two in the 100 meter hurdles.

- Domoah Kutu-Akoi ran 12.28 to earn the 100 meter dash crown, followed by Brianna Piazza in second with 12.53.

- Rebecca Ley navigated the 3000 meter steeplechase in 11:45.91 to finish almost 30 seconds in front of the second place finisher.

- The 4x100 meter relay team won the event with 48.46.

- Andrea Olsen (1:01.96), McKenna Coakley (1:02.78), Nia Driver (1:02.80), and Viviane Orleans (1:03.40) claimed the top four spots in the 400 meter hurdles.

- In the 200 meter dash, Antoniette Isekenegbe ran 25.56 to earn first, while Nioami Miranda and Brianna Piazza ran 25.59 and 25.84, respectively, to earn third and fourth.

- The Blue and White cruised in the hammer throw as Kennisha Okereke (176' 04"), Alicia Hester (162' 04"), Jordan Wildermuth (155' 02") and Taylor Thrunk (152' 03") went one through four.

- Stephanie Roones landed a throw of 148' 11" to win the javelin. Faith Blamon earned third with 146' 07".

- Monmouth landed six in the top-10 of the women's shot put, including the first collegiate finisher in Allison Taub.

- Casey Sturts cleared 12' 05.50" in the pole vault to win the event and move into second in school history.

The Hawks will take part in the Virginia Challenge (University of Virginia) and the Larry Ellis Invitational (Princeton University) on April 21-22.
