TRACK AND FIELD CONCLUDES WEEKEND AT PAIR OF EVENTS

WILLIAMSBURG, VA- Monmouth University's men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up the third weekend of outdoor competition, participating in the Stockton Invite and the Colonial Relays. Several Hawks posted strong marks at both events, led by the throwers at Stockton and several high marks in Williamsburg.

At the Colonial Relays, the MU women posted 30 total points while the men notched 13. Highlighting the events was the women's DMR group of Jenna Cupp, Tionna Garner, Danielle Leavitt and Chandi Piiru setting a school record at 11:31 to win the event. Monmouth's women also posted strong finishes in the 800, led by a fifth place showing from Garner in 2:08.85. The men's distance medley group also posted a top-10 finish, crossing in 10:12.95.

At Stockton, MU had seven first-place finishers, including NCAA Regional qualifying marks from Corey Murphy on the men's side and Stephanie Roones on the women's.

-Monmouth competed in its third weekend of spring outdoor competition, and second weekend on the road.
-At Stockton, MU went one-two in the women's shot put.
-The Hawks took the top three spots and six of the first seven in Stockton's women's hammer throw.
-MU claimed the top four spots in the discus at Stockton, with Murphy leading the way for Gilligan, Andretta and Tummino.
-Kristen Rodgers-Erickson qualified for the ECAC's with a time of 37:31.03 in the 10k, a top-20 mark at the meet.
-Rachael Baker ran 10:53 in the 3k Steeple, the second best time in Monmouth history.
-Corey Murphy won the shot put with a mark of 18.48m, an NCAA Regional qualifying mark.
-Stephanie Roones notched a personal-best and NCAA Regional qualifying tally of 47.76m in the javelin to win the event.

NUMBERS CRUNCH

COLONIAL RELAYS

-Jen Plummer also ran strong in the 10k, finishing just behind her teammate at 38:47.02.
-Bryan Sosoo ran fifth in the 100 meter dash, finishing in 10.95 seconds.
-Teammate Peter Guerriero was two spots back, taking seventh in the 100 at 10.99 seconds.
-Greg Stickle finished fourth in the long jump at 6.70m.
-Andrea Olsen and Nia Driver went three-four in the 400 meter hurdles.
-Four Hawks finished within four seconds of each other in the women's 800, led by Tionna Garner's fifth-place finish.
-Molly McKeon ran 4:38.85 in the 1500.
-The women's 4x400 relay team of Brianna Stratz, Naomi Miranda, Nia Driver and Andrea Olsen took sixth in 3:52.81.
-The women's 4x1500 team of Amber Stratz, Rachael Baker, Molly McKeon and Maggie Hanlon took fifth place.

STOCKTON
-Vincent Santarsiero placed second in the hammer throw (50.61m).
-Jordan Wildermuth won the shot put at 14.26m, a personal best.
-Allison Taub posted high marks in the discus (37.36m) and took second in both the shot put (13.42m) and the javelin (37.49m), a personal high-mark.
-Alicia Hester's hammer throw mark measured in at over 48 meters to win the event.
-Kennisha Okereke was just behind Hester in the hammer at more than 47 meters to claim second.
-Emily Beyer was second in the 5k, finishing in 19:16.
-Evan Jerolaman won the 3k steeple, finishing in 10:14.
-Rob DeFalco was the second place finisher in the 5k at 15:57.
-Rebecca Ley was the runner-up in the 3k steeple at 12:20.
-Evan Adams won the high jump at 1.84m.
-Darius Howe won the triple jump with a mark of 14.22m.

-The Hawks will be at Princeton next Friday and Saturday.
