FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, IL –  The Monmouth University women's bowling team earned a 13th-place finish at the 2017 Brunswick Bearcat Open over the weekend at St. Clair Bowl.

Monmouth went 5-8 during the three-day event, including a 2-1 record in Championship play on Sunday, which included consecutive wins over Lincoln Memorial and No. 18 North Carolina A&T. The Hawks also claimed a head-to-head win over No. 8 Fairleigh Dickinson during Friday's Baker match.

Senior Jackie Evans paced the Hawks individually with a 28^th overall finish as she averaged 191.20 over five traditional games.

NOTES & QUOTES
- The No. 13 ranked Hawks defeated No. 8 FDU by a 988-855 score in a Baker match.
- The top-10 victory gives the Hawks their first top-10 win of the 2017-18 season. 
- Monmouth played No. 20 Prairie View A&M twice during the weekend and split the two matchups, winning a traditional match 890-876 and falling 4-3 in Sunday's Championship opening match.

- Monmouth's highest pin total in baker format was 988 against No. 8 FDU.
- Monmouth's largest margin of victory was 256 pins in the Baker match win over Aurora (912-656). 
- Jackie Evans led Monmouth with a 232 high game in traditional match play.
- Freshman Camelia Coffman posted a high game of 216 in her collegiate debut.
- Over 50 games this weekend, Monmouth averaged 177.6 pins per game, which ranked 14th overall
