LEWISBURG, PA- Monmouth University claimed four victories and a number of top-3 finishes at the 19th Annual Bison Open, held on the campus of Bucknell University Friday and Saturday.
Freshman Ben Pierce won the long jump, clearing 22' 1 ¾” against a 21 athlete field. The Hawks went 1-2-4 in the 500m, with Jack Grace (1:06.64) getting the win followed by Frank Conforti and Mike Stearns. Zachary McDermott tallied a 4,440 points in the heptathlon to finish in third place.
Amber Stratz led the 1000 wire to wire to earn a gold medal (2:59.10) while her sister Brianna Stratz win the 500m with a time of 1:17.10. Senior Maggie Hanlon ran a personal best 10.13.81 in the 3k to take third overall (second collegian).
