Emma Hill (Rae, Mo./King City [Highland C.C.]) added a pair of hits and a stolen base, while
Rachel Shotzbarger (Saugus, Calif./Saugus),
Kayleena Flores (Atwater, Calif./Buhach Colony),
Chloe Howerth (Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah),
Raelynn Galindo (Yorba Linda, Calif./Yorba Linda) and

Amanda Riley (Tracy, Calif./John C. Kimball) started both games in the circle and took both losses. She allowed 11 runs, eight earned, on 16 hits and three walks, while striking out six.
Siena struck first in Game 1 with an infield single, a hit by pitch, a sacrifice bunt and an RBI single from Paige Lloyd to account for the only scoring through five innings. The Hawks finally got on the board with a pair of runs in the top of the sixth. Hill singled, stole second and took third on Howerth's single. Howerth took second as the throw went home. Hill scored on a
Justene Reyes (Carson, Calif./Warren) sacrifice fly and Howerth came in on Shotzbarger's two-out RBI double to center, giving Monmouth a 2-1 lead.
But Siena put up a crooked number of six runs in the bottom of the sixth to win the game. Riley got two outs against the first three Saints to bat in the frame, but seven-straight Siena batters reached on six hits and an error to put Monmouth in a 7-2 hole. Cardoza, Galindo and Hill all singled before Howerth plated Cardoza with a sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh, but that was all Monmouth could score as Siena came away with the 7-3 Game 1 victory.
The Saints never trailed in Game 2. Siena scored twice in the bottom of the third on an RBI double by Sammy Smaldone and a run-scoring single by Lloyd. Two-out walks from Shotzbarger and Flores set the table for Cardoza's RBI single to cut the deficit to 2-1. But the Saints scored seven runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game. Three Monmouth pitchers couldn't record an out as Siena compiled five hits and three walks. Stephanie Viggiano hit a two-run double and scored on a wild pitch. Abby Carpenter followed with an RBI double, while Paige Hess hit a two-run double to make it 8-1. Alyssa Lancaster ended the game with an RBI single.
The Hawks return to non-conference action Tuesday, when they play host to Fairleigh Dickinson. First pitch of the single game from MU Softball Park is scheduled for 4 p.m.
