Monmouth Suffers 10-2 Loss to Hofstra in Season Finale

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.  -Monmouth softball closed out its season with a 10–2 loss to Hofstra in five innings on Saturday afternoon.
 
Hofstra set the tone early, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning on an RBI double to left-center and never relinquishing the lead. The Pride extended their advantage to 4–0 in the second inning with another RBI double, then added three more runs in the third to build a 7–0 cushion.

Monmouth got on the board in the top of the fourth inning with back-to-back solo home runs from Ella Stevinson and Mackenzie Bloss, cutting into the deficit. However, Hofstra responded with three runs in the bottom of the fifth to secure the run-rule victory.

In the circle, Alissa Eimont got the start and reached a milestone with her 400th career strikeout, finishing with a team-high four. Olivia Lewis added one strikeout in relief.


NOTES AND NUMBERS 
  • The Hawks totaled two solo home runs on Saturday to end the season with 35 home runs
  • Ella Stevinson hit her fourth home run of the season while Mackenzie Bloss tallied her team-leading seventh home run
  • With four strikeouts, Alissa Eimont recorded her 400th career strikeout in the circle. Eimont finished the season with 91 strikeouts
  • The Pride tallied 10 hits on 13 runs
  • Monmouth finished with six hits
  • Junior Sammy Miller tallied a team-high two hits and was the lone Hawk to record multiple hits on Saturday

WRAP UP
Monmouth finished its 2026 season with a 20–31 overall record and a 10–14 mark in CAA play, earning its first 20-win season since 2021 while tying the program record for most conference wins.
