Sumpter Earns Second Straight CAA Rookie of the Week Honors

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ –Carah Sumpter was named CAA Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.

Sumpter delivered another standout weekend, earning two wins in the circle to lead Monmouth to a 2–1 series victory over N.C. A&T, securing their second straight series win. Across two appearances, she posted a 3.00 ERA while striking out nine batters.

She also made an impact at the plate, recording four hits and driving in four RBIs. In a 6–5 win over the Aggies, Sumpter scored the game-winning run. She added two extra-base hits, including a double and a triple.

Sumpter and the Hawks will face Hofstra in a three-game series beginning Thursday at 5 p.m.
