BASEBALL'S T.J. HUNT NAMED MAAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Senior right-handed pitcher T.J. Hunt (Wyckoff, N.J./Ramapo) has been named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Pitcher of the Week, conference officials announced Tuesday afternoon. Hunt earned the win during Monmouth's first victory of the season last Friday at VCU.

Hunt tossed 6.2 scoreless innings, allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out four on Friday afternoon. He retired VCU in order in four separate innings, and earned the win in Monmouth's first victory of the season. Hunt sparked Monmouth to a pair of wins on the weekend, and did so throwing just 87 pitches in his time against the Rams in MU's 3-0 win.

Hunt becomes the third separate Monmouth pitcher to earn MAAC weekly honors this season, joining previous MAAC Rookies of the Week Matt Littrell (Bayonne, N.J./Marist) and Justin Andrews (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy).
