WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J.-Junior Qiyana Hill (Middle Island, N.Y./Longwood) was honored as Northeast Conference Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday evening for her record-setting discus throw at the Moravian Greyhound Invitational on Saturday, April 20.
Hill threw the discus 46.06 meters (151 feet 1 inch), set a Monmouth school record and moved her to the number two spot in the NEC for the discus.
Both track and field teams maintained their East Region rankings announced by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, announced Tuesday afternoon. The men held their 10th place ranking, while the women held the 11th place spot.
The Hawks will travel to Pennsylvania this weekend to partake in the Penn Relays in Philadelphia and the Lehigh Games in Bethlehem. This is the last meet before the NEC Championships held in West Long Branch on May 4th and 5th.
