WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - Senior Rachel Watkins (Oakland, NJ/Indian Hills) was selected as the Northeast Conference Women's Athlete of the Week Tuesday, December 4 due to her fantastic efforts at the 4th Annual MAC Classic held at the Multipurpose Activity Center on Saturday, December 1.

For the high jump, Watkins posted a 1.78m mark, equivalent to 5'10". The height, which stands two centimeters better than the mark that landed her the 2012 conference crown, ranks Watkins second on the early season NCAA Division I leader board. Watkins matched the meet record at last year's NEC Indoor Championships, and only Vanderbilt's Brionne Williams (1.82m) has jumped higher thus far.

The Hawks' next competition is the Princeton New Year Invitational on Sunday, December 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Princeton University.
