BOWLING WRAPS UP NEC SECOND MATCH

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J.- Monmouth University's women's bowling team completed the second of three Northeast Conference team matches last weekend with the Hawks posting three wins over the two-days, including an impressive victory over second-ranked Kutztown University.

The Hawks are currently in eighth place in the 10-teamleague with a 5-13 record in NEC play (31-42 overall).  FDU, Kutztown and Sacred Heart are tied atop of the NEC after weekend's match with 14-4 records.  The Northeast Conference features six top-20 teams, including five teams in the top-10 according to the latest NTCA Coaches Poll.


MU posted an opening day 1080-1030 win over second ranked Kutztown, while also collecting wins over Saint Francis (Pa.) and Saint Peter's on the weekend.  The contests were scored in baker format.


Regular season Northeast Conference competition continues on March 5 and 6 when Monmouth University hosts the third and final meet at Howell Lanes. 


The Hawks are off this weekend before returning to the lanes on Friday, February 18 at the Morgan State Invitational.
