Millsboro, Del.- Monmouth University (14-21) wrapped up the three-day
University of Maryland Eastern Shore Hawk Classic in 16th place last
weekend at Millsboro Lanes in Millsboro, Del.
The Hawks, which went 6-7 head to head record over the tournament, registered
7, 801 total pins. Monmouth won its
first two baker matches against Central Missouri State and Texas Southern
University while averaging 681.8 over the baker portion of the tournament. MU
captured victories over Stephen F. Austin, Howard and Bowie State University. Central
Missouri went on to finish second in the tournament behind host UMES.
Individually, junior Rikki Del Donno (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury [FDU]) led
the Hawks with her 39th place finish and 188.00 average, knocking
down 940 pins. Brittany Havens (Bordentown,
N.J./Bordentown Regional) came in five spots away with a 186.0 average while
Emily Fiore's (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) 180.80 average was 48th
out of 129 scored bowlers.
Monmouth is back in action on Dec. 3 when they travel to Midlothian, Va. to
compete in the St. Paul's Jeanette
Lee Invitational.
