READING, Pa.- Monmouth University's women's bowling team (8-14)
registered a pair of wins in the program's first NEC Match last weekend at
Berks Lanes in Reading Pa.
The Hawks scored team victories over St. Peter's and New Jersey City University
over the weekend. MU got its first win
of the weekend in its fourth match, downing eighth-ranked New Jersey City
University 971-924 then went on to record a 918-879 victory over the
Peahens. The Hawks Monmouth finished ninth as a team with 8,049
total pins at the meet, which featured six top-15 programs.
Freshman Brittany Havens (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown) led the Hawks with 1,660
total pins for a 20
th place finish.
Junior Rikki Del Donno (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury/FDU) was 21st
overall with 1,646 pins while sophomore Jolisa Aquino (North Bergen, N.J./High
Tech) was right behind her in 22nd with 1,634 pins. Emily Fiore's (Toms River, N.J./Toms River
East) 1,620 total pins was good enough for 24th
out of 73 bowlers.
Monmouth is back in
action this upcoming weekend at the UMES Hawk Classic at Millsboro Lanes in
Millsboro, Del.
