WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Four Monmouth field hockey players earned NFHCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region honors, tying the most in program history.
Florence van Doorn was named to the first team, while
Eulalie Brouwers,
Claire Campen and
Milla Frye secured spots on the second team. All four earned NFHCA honors for the first time in their careers.
van Doorn adds to her accolades after an outstanding rookie campaign. The CAA Rookie of the Year also earned spots on the CAA First Team and All-Rookie Team. She appeared in 15 games with 13 starts, recording 18 points on six goals and six assists. The Netherlands native anchored a defense that posted three shutouts and helped guide the Hawks to a CAA regular season title.
Brouwers made program history as Monmouth's first-ever CAA Defensive Player of the Year and also earned First Team All-CAA honors. The Belgium native started all 17 games and recorded a career-high 10 points, scoring once and adding eight assists. She was a key part of a defensive unit that tallied three shutouts.
Campen posted a breakout sophomore season, starting all 16 games she appeared in. The Hawley, Pa., native earned First Team All-CAA honors after recording a career-high 12 goals. A team captain, she played a pivotal role in leading the Hawks to a CAA regular season championship.
Frye turned in a sensational sophomore season as well, starting all 17 games. The midfielder notched a career-high 18 points on eight goals and two assists and earned First Team All-CAA recognition.
