RICHMOND, Va. – Mackenzie Bloss and
Billie Kerwood from the Monmouth University Softball Team have been named to the 2024 CAA Softball Preseason Watch List, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Bloss was a 2023 CAA All-Rookie Team member after starting all 44 games in centerfield. As a true freshman, she ranked inside the top-3 on the team in at-bats, runs, hits, doubles, triples, total bases, and stolen bases. Bloss makes the switch to shortstop after leading the Hawks outfielders with three assists last season.
Kerwood returns as Monmouth's ace following a 2023 season that saw her win five games and led the Hawks pitching staff in ERA (3.03), complete games (10), innings pitched (134.0), and strikeouts (157). Kerwood's 157 punchouts were the top mark in the conference, highlighted by a new career high with 11 strikeouts in just five innings of work against Elon.

After winning eight conference games last season, Monmouth was picked to finish 10
th in the new 12-team CAA. The Hawks begin their 2024 season with a doubleheader at New Mexico State on Friday, Feb. 9.
