LIMERICK, PA – The Monmouth University Women's Bowling Team won six matches over the span of two days and finished in seventh place out of 16 competing schools at the Griffin Baker Classic at Bowlero this weekend.

The Hawks knocked down a total of 6,375 pins across seven Baker matches (35 games), averaging 182.1 pins per game as they qualified for sixth place entering Sunday's Championship format.

The weekend started with wins over Mercyhurst, No. 22 Kutztown, and host Chestnut Hill on Saturday. With the 956-875 victory over nationally ranked Kutztown, the Hawks are now 2-0 against the Golden Bears this season and have defeated them on back-to-back Saturdays. The win also gives Monmouth its 10
th win over a ranked opponent this season, just one shay of last season's total of 11.

Sunday began with two wins as Monmouth downed MEAC foe Norfolk State and St. Thomas Aquinas to enter the Championship bracket as the tournament's sixth seed.
Mercyhurst defeated Monmouth in a back-and-forth seven-game series in the first round of Championship play, but the Hawks responded with a win over LIU in five games.
