HAWKS ANNOUNCE 2023-24 SCHEDULE

September 07, 2023

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Head Coach Karen Grygiel has finalized the 2023-24 competition schedule for the Monmouth University Bowling Team.

The Hawks open the season on October 27 down in Orlando for the three-day Sunshine State Classic hosted by Stephen F. Austin – a competition Monmouth placed sixth as a team during the 2022-23 campaign. Junior Sierra Poole returns after recording the highest individual performance (21st, 196.67 pins-per-game) at last year's tournament.

Throughout the season, Monmouth will play in two Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference tournaments, each in different formats. The Hawks, who went 9-7 in conference games and finished third in the MEAC regular season standings, are set to go head-to-head with their conference foes on November 11 (Baker) and then again on February 17 (Traditional). Both events will feature two days of competition each.

Grygiel's squad will play in at least two events inside the Garden State's borders this upcoming season. William Patterson hosts the two-day Northeast Classic beginning on December 2 in Lodi, NJ, while FDU hosts the three-day NJ Open in Stratford starting on January 26 where Monmouth will serve as a co-host. The location for the two-day Griffin Baker Classic hosted by Caldwell on February 3 is yet to be determined.

Monmouth will also serve as a co-host at the UMES Hawk Classic with Maryland Eastern Shore on November 17 in Woodbridge, VA. To wrap up the regular season, the Blue & White travel to Wilmington, DE, for the two-day Northeast Roundup hosten by Wilmington.

The 2023-24 MEAC Championships will take place from March 24 – 26 in Raleigh, NC. Last year, Monmouth were the tournament's runner-up.

Senior Jenna Lehrer, a 2022-23 All-MEAC Third Team member, headlines the Hawks roster for 2023-24. Grygiel added four freshmen in this year's recruiting class that will look to make an instant impact. Siyah Sweeny, Brillian Soedarmasto, and Desiré Villalobos will be key contributors throughout the season, as well.
