WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Freshman goalkeeper
Jessie Eiselin of the Monmouth University Field Hockey Team was named Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Field Hockey Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Eiselin recorded her first career shutout in a 1-0 victory over Drexel in the Hawks' conference opener. The Amsterdam native turned away a career-best nine shots on goal from the Dragons offense. Earlier in the week, the freshman made five saves in a 4-1 win at Wagner to give Monmouth their first two-win week of the 2023 season.
Currently, Eiselin leads the CAA in save percentage stopping 76% of shots faced and is second in goals against average at 1.75. In addition, her save percentage ranks 23
rd nationally.
The Hawks will travel down to Delaware on Friday, Sept. 22 to take on the No. 20 Blue Hens at 5 p.m. on FloSports.
