Will Trochiano had two hits for Monmouth, while MU's bullpen allowed just one run across 3.2 innings.

William and Mary jumped to a 3-0 lead thanks to a three-hit first inning, with the Hawks turning a key double play to escape more damage. The Tribe added a single run in the second ahead of Trochiano knocking in a run with a single to left to cut it to 4-1. William & Mary got their only run against the MU bullpen in the eighth, and the Hawks registered a hit in each of the final three innings, but were unable to get any closer.
