WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Lauren Karabin and
Jesi Rossman of the Monmouth University women's soccer team were named to the Preseason All-CAA Team on Thursday.
Karabin, who was a Second Team All-MAAC performer a season ago, compiled 24 points on 10 goals and four assists during her senior campaign. She ranked second in the MAAC and first on the team in goals scored while sitting fourth in the conference in points. The Wall, N.J., native was the first Hawk to finish with double-digit goals in a season since 2016. She logged nine points across three MAAC Tournament games with four goals and an assist en route to being named the conference tournament MVP.
Rossman was Monmouth's primary ball distributor as a senior last season with a team-best nine assists to pair with five goals. A 2021 Second Team All-MAAC honoree, she ranked third in the MAAC in helpers while finishing second on the team in points and goals. Her nine assists were the most in single-season program history since 2017. In three MAAC Tournament matches, the Lady Lake, Fla., native posted six assists on four helpers and a goal.
Additionally, Monmouth was picked to finish fourth in the CAA Preseason Coaches Poll. UNCW was picked to finish first with 115 points and five first-place votes. The reigning CAA champs, Hofstra, earned 111 points with four first-place votes, while Northeastern rounded out the top-three with 95 points.
