EDISON, N.J. – Cassidy Orban of the Monmouth women's lacrosse team was tabbed the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

The Long Valley, N.J., native is the second Hawk in as many weeks to receive the defensive player of the week nod from the conference. It marks the first time since the 2015 campaign that Monmouth earned the weekly honor in consecutive weeks.

This past week, Orban compiled six ground balls, four caused turnovers and 15 ground balls. She also contributed offensively with four points on three goals and an assist.

She opened the week with six draw controls, three ground balls and a caused turnover in a win over Harvard in Jacksonville, Fla. Orban added an assist opposite the Crimson as well.

Two days later, she posted career-high marks in draw controls (9) and caused turnovers (3). She The graduate student also logged three ground balls and a hat trick after scoring three goals on just four shots in a road game against Stetson.

Orban and the Hawks return to action on Wednesday when they host Temple for the non-conference finale at Kessler Stadium slated for 3 p.m.
